Details

Karthak is brimming with people. The bustle of humanity flows all around you. Standing in the ever moving current is a single stationary man. He glares at you, 'Are you from SK Associates?'

He takes the amulet from you and looks at it carefully, 'I see you done some jobs already, you good at kill'n folks? I heard that SK can do things quick and quiet. I need a job done, and I want it done right.' You can see that the man is looking for blood, you reach out your hand and ask who he is and what the Contract is for.

He hands back the Medallion, 'Oh, sorry, I'm Perry Tyler. I have a stall here in the Market. I know that there appears to be lots of people around, but they aren't hanging around. They are not browsing the stalls. There are just too many Cut Purses around. Too many punters are loosing too much coin. Many stalls are on the brink of going under, we have sent word to the Thieves Guild but we just get either sarcasm or silence back. I want you to make an example of them and tell whoever lets these pickpockets run all over the place that we will not stand for it.'

'When your ready I'll tell you what I want done.'

Perry stares at you. You can see his impatience, 'Are you ready?'

He takes a deep breath, 'Now don't get me wrong, I can't expect there to be no Cut Purses around. But when they get so bad that the Market cannot support the stalls, something has to be done. The City Guards patrol but they are slow and noisy. The Cut Purses hear them stomping around long before they arrive. I want something done, I want you to tell the Thieves Guild that we will not stand for it! Do not think that I am alone in my anger, there are others who are just as furious.'

'I want you to make a Trophy Chain and string it up in the Poor Quarter's Gallows. The Poor Quarter is supposedly where the Thieves Guild is based. Return to me when you are done.' He then hands a you a Scroll, 'Be careful, the Poor Quarter is not laughing matter.'

You receive 1 x Trophy Chain Recipe

The Poor Quarter is a dark and gloomy place. Tall wooden buildings crowd the cramped streets, relegating sky to a slit above. Between these ramshackle dwellings run dark narrow ally's. You can only guess what maze they lead to. A perfect place where those with evil intentions can lurk in the shadows.

You move on, this place has a undercurrent of malice that puts you on edge. Suddenly the street opens up into a small square. You look up at the clear sky and breath deeply. But the momentary feeling of elation evaporates when you see the well used Gallows in the center of the small cobbled square.

You take out the gruesome trophy, lace the ends onto the Gallows and step back. You feel eyes on you. Drawing your weapon you turn slowly. But see no visible threat. Just the shadows arcing off into the depths of the Poor Quarter. You should not dawdle here.

You should return to Perry Tyler in the Market Square and tell him the Contract is fulfilled.

The Market is heaving with life, people mill around chatting and smiling. Perry walks up to you, 'You done the job?'

He smiles at you, 'I know it seems a little harsh. But there are some folks who only understand force. Talking just does not cut it. It's a shame really, but that's how it is.' He looks around, 'It's not back to what it was, but when the punters see that there are less cloaked figures wandering about they will return. Things are looking up. Thanks again Hunter, I'll recommend SK Acquisitions to anyone who asks.' He smiles broadly and wanders off into the milling crowds.

You are about to return to Klines in the Dog and Partridge when he comes striding up to you. He smiles broadly, 'I thought I'd come meet you instead of you trailing across town. Do I see a happy Patron leaving? I assume the Contract is completed to his wishes?' You nod.

'Excellent, you are an efficient Hunter. I may be in danger of growing to like you if you carry on in this manner.' He laughs happily, 'We are a young company, just starting out. It's important that we make a name for ourselves, but only with the right people.' He extends his hand, 'I shall take your Medallion now, we must not forget that now must we.'

Klines notches the Golden Medallion then returns it to you. 'Right now, we have another Contract for you in the Shambles! Busy, busy busy! The Patron is a Miss Page. Do be polite, she is from the Mages Guild. When you are done, return to the Merchant Quarter and find our Offices. Sathkaan wants to talk to you.

'Good hunting'
