Details

You've been summoned to the Cathedral of Ways. The letter demanding your presence is from a Brother Peck. You've not heard of this member of the Cathedral before and wonder at the unfriendly wording of the letter. You arrive at the Cathedral.
You enter the Cathedral and notice the atmosphere is muted and tense. You see a Brother ahead and approach him 'Brother Peck?'
The Brother turns to you. 'So, you are the 'warrior' Brother Richard insisted I contact. Don't look like much. You sure you'll be up to this?'
As the Brother sneers at you, you step forward and say in a low voice 'I have helped save this Cathedral many times over. As to the problem you are having now, it would help if you explained the issue instead of sneering at me.'
Peck looks you up and down. 'The issue is ghosts. I don't see any but Brother Richard says many others do. Meet me in the cloister that Richard has called Spook Central.' With that Brother Peck struts off. What a self important little man!

You meet Brother Peck in Spook Central. He is stood next to a ghostly brother who is tending a shop stall. Peck looks at you. 'Found your way here then did you? Well, you'll want to buy a potion from the Spirit tending the shop. Then go and get a robe and the weapon that Brother Richard has left for you in the other room.'
'I thought you didn't believe in Spirits?' Peck looks at the Spirit Brother. 'He's a Spirit of a Brother of the Light, not some ghost or spook which is what people claim they are seeing. I'm sure you know all about how people think. They say you're a hero. That you've saved the cathedral from destruction many times. Well, the Cathedral looks fine to me. You probably convince people with illusions and potions. Anyway, get to it. Get some potions from the Spirit and get the equipment that Brother Richard left for you.'

You enter the other room Peck pointed you to. You see a robe hung waiting for you and some kind of weapon on a backpack resting in a rack.
You take the robe and put it on.

Having put on the robe, you turn to the peculiar weapon.
You pick up the weapon and strap it to your back there appears to be some kind of wand which you assume will trap these Spooks. With everything retrieved, you decide to return to Brother Peck.

You return to Brother Peck and tell him you're ready.
Peck looks at you witheringly. 'Brother Richard says there are Spook reports from all but the smallest Realms. Come back to the Cathedral once you have smashed 1000 Pesky Spooks.'
Time to go out and smash some Pesky Spooks! Make sure you have plenty of Shamhna Spooky Vision potions!

You return to the Cathedral to report to Brother Peck that you've captured 1000 Pesky Spooks and find Brother Richard waiting for you instead.
Brother Richard looks up. 'He was stood on by a giant spook that he said he didn't believe in. It came to destroy the Cathedral but we managed to drive it back to the Realm of Oidhche Shamhna. If you are strong enough, you might be able to attack the fell creature. Be warned though, it is very powerful. You will need your Spook Smasher to defeat it so you'd best keep hold of it! In any event, your aid to the Cathedral has been recorded again and I shall have Brother Peck read of your deeds on behalf of the Light again. Light be with you Warrior.'

You receive 9,365 XP and 'Recipe of Man Eating Pickle'.
