DetailsYou wander through the mines, coming across Workers with vacant stares who do not respond to you, simply continuing to work in silence. You see they are all wearing glowing amulets which radiate a fell red light. As you continue to navigate the twisting corridors, you hear a whimpering. The Slave gets a good look at you. 'You are not the Riangi Mine Master (Champion)! Are you in league with the Riangi Dwarfs?' 'We need your help Warrior! The people you see working these mines are enslaved! The Riangi Dwarfs have kidnapped them from Helmirr City!' You remember the City, having passed through there recently. You bid the man to continue his tale. 'The Dwarfs have placed those Red Amulets on each of the people kidnapped. It gives them complete control over the enslaved. That is why they are all blank eyed and silent! I'd like you to help save my people. You need to remove their amulets. You'll probably have to knock them out first though. Please return when you have freed 100 Slaves and retreived one of the Amulets.'You return to the freed slave. 'Ah! You are back! Thank you for freeing and leading many of my people out of this place! Did you keep one of the Enslaving Amulets?' 'Excellent!' The ex-slave pulls out a tool and changes the rune. 'I have broken the enslaving rune. Now that you have this, you should be able to feel the presence of the Riangi Mine Master (Champion) without becoming enslaved yourself. Please find him and end his reign of misery over the remaining poor souls in these mines.' You return to the ex-slave. He turns to you and grins. ' You have returned! I assume this means the Mine Master is dead?' 'Wonderful news, my friend! However, I must ask if you are willing to continue helping the citizens of Helmirr? If so, I have much to ask of you. In any event, I have change the elslavement Amulet into a Rune of Freedom. I'd like you to have it.' 'Are you willing to help us further?' 'You humble me, my friend! The Dwarfs are planning another attack on Helmirr City. They have been using the ore mined by our slave labour to create monstrous war machines which will surely doom us. We need you to travel over this mountain through the cursed realms of the Sephcans. They were said to be Master Alchemists in life and are even more inventive in their madness now! We need you to gather items from these beings and mix them as per this recipe. It should allow you to cripple the Dwarfish War Machines and save my city. Please take this recipe. It will detail the items you will require. I will return to the city with due haste and get someone to meet you in Riangi Lands. |
