Overview
Global quests were added to the game in February 2012 as a way of encouraging community spirit and teamwork. The quests are fairly uncommon, extend over a period of four to five days, and require the members of the community to kill as many of a specific target creature (or creatures) as possible during that time. The creatures are low-level enough that most players will have no problem killing them, and they spawn in a wide variety of maps throughout the realms. In addition, some global quests have additional features, such as craftable items from components dropped by the target creatures.
Each Global Quest has an associated reward. Thus far, all such rewards have been containers offering the user's choice of 2-3 potions. The number of such containers received is determined by the number of kills achieved by the community. For details, see the section below on the specific Global Quest in which you are interested. In addition, in some Global Quests, attaining higher tiers unlocks stronger and more beneficial potion choices.
To earn the quest's reward, the player must kill at least a specified number of target creatures, which varies from quest to quest. Once a player has done so, he is "Qualified." Originally, all qualified players received the same reward, regardless of the number of creatures killed. However this was changed with the 31 July, 2012 Global Quest, where players were given better rewards for accruing higher numbers of creatures killed. Again, see the section below on the specific Global Quest in which you are interested for more information.
In addition to the unique reward associated with each Global Quest, there are also two series of medals associated with Global Quests. The Global Quest Qualified Medal is awarded to individuals qualifying in a particular global quest, and the Global Quest Top 100 Medal is awarded to the 100 individuals in each Global Quest who kill the largest number of target creatures. Like all medals, each is available in five levels of difficulty: bronze, silver, gold, crystal, and ruby.

Official Announcement
We are pleased to announce the start of our 96 hour special event which also includes the first ever Global Quest!
From now until 16:00 GMT on Tuesday we will be spawning 14 new Legendary creatures and 2 new common creatures.
The Global Quest will require the entire community to defeat 2,000,000 of the Zorgrom and Shrounds common foot soldiers. However for each additional 2,000,000 kills the reward will increase for everybody (up to a max of 10,000,000)! To qualify for this reward individually you will need to defeat at least 250 of the common Zorgrom and Shroud Foot soldiers.

Comments
When this Global Quest began, the number of kills required to reach each tier was 5,000,000. This was lowered to 3,000,000 on day three of the event.
Some players early in the event reported having large numbers of kills go uncredited. While the error causing this was fixed by the event's end, both final individual and community tallies remain somewhat in dispute.
In this Global Quest, all qualifying players received the same reward, regardless of the number of Quest Creatures killed.

Darksun Dragons are rarely encountered, preferring sleep the year away in desolate lands and caves far from those who would hunt them. However during the rare celestial eclipse known as the Darksun happens these Dragons awaken and migrate in huge numbers from their hidden haunts descending upon the populated lands to feed in an orgy of fire and blood before returning to their dark hidden homes.
The Darksun Dragons are known to horde great treasures. Join together now and help defeat them!

Note that the Global Quest will last just over 4 days and the dragons will spawn in various realms through the world.

It is a dark day. On this day, many years ago, the beloved Royal Family of Albiton were brought low by the insidious attack of a nameless Necromancer. The Albiton Family had potent Alchemists, who worked wonders with their potions. The Necromancer, fearful of this power, poisoned the Yeoman Guard of the Royal Household and raised their dead bodies. Thus the Royal House of Albiton fell. Trapped in their own towers with their own undead Guards preying upon them.
Zombie Yeoman (Level 25)
Now, the Yeomen have risen again across the land. The Warrior of the Realms must destroy them. If you aid in this task, you can earn the potions of the fallen House.
The latest Global Event in Fallen Sword is now underway! In the Event, the Community must work together to destroy the Zombie Yeomen infesting the Realms.
Each player must earn a personal target for increasingly powerful potion rewards (mouse over the event info on the World page for more details) while also helping the Community to attain the best total kills possible, unlocking the rewards for all.
To this end, we have also introduced the Global Booster buff, available in potion form from the Loyalty Page. This acts similarily to the Doubler skill, but multiplies your contribution per kills instead of the xp / gold.
Additionally, for the Top Three Contributors to the Community Total, they will receive an exclusive custom Avatar for the game drawn by our artist Forn!
The Event shall be live until 17:00 (Server Time) on Saturday the 4th of August.

Changes were made to this global quest which affected the rewards available to each player.
As the community reached each successive tier, they unlocked a different reward chest. Thus, when the bronze tier was reached, the Battered Peasant Chest was unlocked, while reaching the silver tier unlocked the Plain Commoners Chest.
However, the actual chests received by each individual depended on their actual participation in the event. Instead of the single qualifying number of kills in past events, there were a series of personal tiers that needed to be met to reach each level:

The reward for unlocking the ruby tier was initially stated to be "3 x Emblazoned Royal Chest". This was increased to "4 x Emblazoned Royal Chest" later, when the threshold for Ruby tier was also increased from 12.5 million to 15 million kills. | ||
In order to receive a given reward, two conditions needed to be met:
- The chest in question needed to have been unlocked by the Fallen Sword Community reaching the specified tier.
- The individual must have personally reached the specified tier.
Thus, if the community reached the ruby tier, unlocking the Emblazoned Royal Chest, but the player only killed 3,000 of the quest creatures (Crystal tier), they would qualify for the crystal reward, not the ruby reward. And if the community only reached the crystal tier, no players could receive the ruby tier reward, regardless of how many quest creatures they had personally killed.
Rewards were not cumulative. A participating player could receive 3 Emblazoned Royal Chests or 2 Padded Nobles Chests or 1 Studded Merchants Chest, but not all of them.
A further change to this Global Quest was the addition of "Global Booster" potions, available for gold or loyalty points through the Loyalty Rewards Page. These acted like the Doubler buff in that thet caused the player to expend more stamina per attack, but instead of returning extra gold and xp, they caused the individual's kill count to be multiplied:

The Gargantuan Mosquito were once normal little irritants. How ever this has been a long, hot, damp summer and the humid temperatures have seen the Mosquito population explode. As if this were not bad enough, Mages across the Realms have reported rogue magic concentrations that have allowed the Mosquitos to grow to monstrous size.
Now these beasts are buzzing around and draining people and livestock of their blood. Any unlucky survivors find themselves struck with a magical fever which spreads to other living beings, weakening them, making them easy prey!
The Warriors of the Realms must gather together to rid the Communities of these horrifying vermin!
The latest Global Event in Fallen Sword is now underway! In the Event, the Community must work together to destroy the Gargantuan Mosquito plaguing the Realms.
Each player must earn a personal target for increasingly powerful chests (mouse over the event info on the World page for more details) while also helping the Community to attain the best total kills possible, unlocking the rewards for all.

Hi there Everyone.
Once again Oidhche Shamhna has arrived in the Realms. The Dead and Disturbing have risen again and it falls to the Warriors of the Realms to defend the innocent.
Counts as 1 Kill. 100 spawned per Realm. Requires the Shamhna Spooky Vision potion to see and Spook Smasher Caster to attack. Gained from the new Quest 'Spook Smashers' Which starts in the Cathedral of Ways.
Counts as 2 Kills. 50 spawned per Realm.
Counts as 5 Kill. 15 spawned per Realm.
The latest Global Event in Fallen Sword is now underway! In the Event, the Community must work together to destroy the risen Dead plaguing the Realms.
Each player must earn a personal target for increasingly powerful potion rewards (mouse over the event info on the World page for more details) while also helping the Community to attain the best total kills possible, unlocking the rewards for all.
You'll want to play the new Quest 'Spook Smashers' to gain the Reveal potion and Weapon needed to attack the Pesky Spooks.
Additionally, for the Top Three Contributors to the Community Total, they will earn the chance to suggest a new Legendary Creature for the Scavenging Cave. The winners will describe the kind of creature they'd like to see added. Obviously the creature must be in good taste and we will have final say as to how appropriate the creature is. First place will have their creature at their approximate level while the other two would be spread out across the levels.
The Event shall be live until 15:00 GMT (Server Time) on the 5th of November.

Hi there Everyone.
We are pleased to announce the start of our 96 hour special event which sees the return of the Zorgrom and Shroud Legions!!
From now until 16:00 GMT on Friday the eighth of March, we will be spawning 16 Legendary creatures and 2 Global creatures.
The Global Quest will require the entire community to work together to defeat the Zorgrom and Shroud common foot soldiers. To qualify for the Bronze level reward, you'll need to defeat at least 1,000 of the common Zorgrom and Shroud Foot soldiers.

Comments
This was essentially a repeat of the February 2012 event, with the addition of two new legendary creatures for the higher-level characters. Unlike the first go-round, this one includes individual goals to attain each tier in addition to community goals (as was done for the most recent three events).
